About Us

A Common Pasture

A Common Pasture was established in 2024 as a collaborative effort between four small-scale livestock farms located in Southwestern Michigan: Blooming Acres Farm (Bloomingdale), Sandy Creek Farm (South Haven), Thunderfoot Farms (Paw Paw), and Silly Goose Acres (Plainwell). United by a shared commitment to regenerative agriculture, soil health, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship, these farms came together to create a more sustainable, community-focused approach to raising and marketing pasture-based meats—with a focus on pasture-raised pork.

Thunderfoot Farms

Thunderfoot Farms, owned by Gabe and Emily Francisco, is a multigenerational family farm nestled in the heart of Southwest MI. Spanning 25 acres of fertile soil and rolling countryside, the farm is home to a diverse landscape of orchards, vegetable and flower gardens, and open pastures. Every inch of land is carefully managed using sustainable, regenerative practices; free from pesticides, antibiotics, fungicides, steroids, and growth hormones. This commitment to natural growing methods not only reflects our respect for the environment but also ensures the health of our soil, plants, animals, and community. With deep roots in the local farming tradition, Thunderfoot Farms continues to evolve while honoring the values that have shaped it for generations.

Silly Goose

Spencer Evans and Frannie Einterz own Silly Goose Acres in Plainwell, MI. A small, 23-acre farm where they are happily raising their two small boys. They farm pasture-raised pigs and chickens, grass-fed sheep, and are stewards of a wholesale rhubarb patch. They operate by implementing a rotational grazing system and plenty of dance parties.
Find their products (eggs, pork, lamb, and rhubarb) either on-farm, on the Kalamazoo Valley Food Hub, or here with their favorite collaborators: ACP!

Thunderfoot Farms

Daniel and Emily Brown started Blooming Acres Farms in 2021. With the dream of farming in a way that honored the land and the animals raised on it, the passion for pasture-raised meats and regenerative agriculture was born. As of 2025, the entire 32-acre farm is Certified Naturally Grown. Through their work, they hope to help reestablish a local connection to sustainable agriculture and access to nutritious, high-quality food.
